Cody Skinner:
Barbell Club Founder + Operations Manager

Cody has 7 years involvement with CrossFit and 6 years competing in weightlifting. He has had the opportunity to train under and alongside multiple national and international champions and loves to learn new things that he can use to help his athletes.

  • Prioritizes training goals and tailors programs for individual athletes

Kady Skinner: Coach

While in college, Kady taught step, circuit and yoga classes. After graduation, she started personal training and teaching yoga. It was then she found a local CrossFit boot camp and gave it a try. It was instant love. She started implementing the CrossFit methodology into her training sessions with her clients. She found a trainer of her own to help her get a better understanding of Olympic Weightlifting and gymnastics. After being involved in CrossFit for about a year she started her CrossFit Coaching career in 2012. Kady is an accomplished competitive CrossFit athlete with multiple podium finishes. Most notably, she was a competitor in the 2014 CrossFit Games South Central Regional.

  • Focuses on time management – getting adequate warm-up, WOD, and cool down  into 60 minutes

  • Implements knowledge of CrossFit methodologies and scaling for athletes’ abilities

Lexi Grose: Coach

Lexi’s love for fitness started at a young age through gymnastics. She was a gymnast from 5-13 years of age, but after moving out of state she stepped away from gymnastics to try a new sport. She tried soccer, volleyball, track, powerlifting, and competed on a swim team but none of them measured up to her love for gymnastics. Through high school she worked out at a traditional gym just to stay in shape, but really missed the team camaraderie and competitiveness of a sport. She was persuaded by a friend to try a CrossFit class in the fall of 2017 and instantly fell in love with the energy, attitude, and community that CrossFit embodies. She found a new team and a new sport to love! After a year of training at CrossFit Strive, she decided to pursue her level 1 certification so she could share her passion and love for CrossFit with others.

•Builds strong relationships with each athlete 
•Creates a fun and focused training environment 
•Enjoys coaching a variety of different athletic levels and progressions
